It is interesting that under the Income Tax act teachers are not considered professionals because they do not regulate their own hours and conditions of work. However, at the University their long period of training certainly fits. Their advanced degrees are sometimes even termed "Professional Masters" degrees, and in the eyes of the public, they certainly are considered "Professional"...and expected to "act accordingly". Strange term "Professional".
