The Compassion-Person

Walking through the Music Building at Brandon University at exam time, you can cut the atmosphere there with a knife. This group, with such a high percentage of compassionate persons, is a group which does not like hostility, excluding people from the group or competition. All three activities find their focus at exam time.

My wife, a French consultant for the School Division is involved in staff meeting s at all levels of the school system. She reports that generally the Primary grade staff meetings are much gentler than the High School Meetings, and are usually conducted on soft chairs and over cookies and milk. I found in academic advising, that most of the people going into primary grade teaching had a high "compassion person" gift. They tended to "teach kids math not math to kids". The holistic experience of life amongst this group was brought home to me a few years ago when a man who was pretty well straight compassion-person said, "Stu I have a problem with this people-grouping system. I don't see groups of anything, I just experience people". Another compassion person returned after one session and said about his work place, "I didn't know there were so many different types of people, I just thought there were people".
