“The Unseen Hand” ( ) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write # 6:15]

Of course, the evil-one as well
Sends spies to check what bits you tell
About your plans, deductions from
Page of your playbook, Sun Tsu’s one.

For two can play that crazy game –
Both sides do battle much the same;
The only difference really is
The actions taken in this biz.

For evil-one, it’s kill, destroy,
And steal, for that he has deployed
Resource at hand, destructive game;
Sun Tzu to such plays much the same.

But Jesus uses Sun Tsu’s book
In form which was before Tsu took
His pages from God’s playbook’s game,
And twisted them, ’till not the same.

Like King (Ecclesiastes book),
Line says,“ Hey there! Take a second look!
There’s nothing new ’neath sun or moon,
Just twists and turns – you’ll see that soon”.

But Paul says Jesus does much more –
Like Sun Tsu’s book (which folks adore!”),
He brings renewal of God’s plan,
Designed at first for earth and man.

Reform, renewal, both words speak
Of what exists before it’s tweaked
For good or ill – it’s much the same –
Same playbook for big-picture game.

So here Sun Tsu says, “Formless be.”
For its, in war, epitome
Of how to fight – there’s nothing new –
What you intend, give out no clues.

One other aspect’s here, of course –
Both love and hate use their resource
In ways quite old, which one can view;
But purposes each hold, we do –

See differently from here on in –
In wars on earth, both sides begin
To act out twisted rules of play;
In Sun Tsu’s verses choose their way –

Of winning, making others lose;
Insisting on the life they choose –
Not so with Christ – He saves and heals,
And bids us act as one who kneels –

At foot of cross, He took that we
Might come to prosper righteously;
It’s all Sun Tsu – untwisted, though;
We’re formless, sure, but Jesus knows –

What He’s about in larger scene;
He’s far beyond the mean and mean
Which best describes most life on earth,
Where Herods slay the best at birth.

Faith, hope, and love supremely bless
Our lives on earth; and Kingdom-rest
Allows us place to stand and grow
In Christ, ’till all the best we know.

Thanks Lord for this.
