“Spiritual Warfare” (Mt.5:9;Rom.12:21;Lk.9:57ff;1Cor.15:57) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write – #3-2]
When Christians use the title term,
They still have one key thing to learn –
Not just that love in Christ trumps hate,
But using forces best must wait.Sun Tsu points out, attacks on plans,
On strategies of a foreign lands,
In such a way that force is turned
Away – in this a lesson’s learned.For if one is not to destroy
But keep intact the other – ploys
That stop each fight before it starts
Are best done first, Sun Tsu remarks.If that’s not possible, Tsu says,
Wreck up alliances – it pays
Large dividends – when left alone
Belligerents might stay at home.Of course, if force in end is used,
And force of love and care you choose,
You will engage on higher plane –
Dynamics of events you’ll change.Christ said up front that we will die;
Our kith and kin in end will fly
From where they stood short hours ago;
And loss of wealth we’ll surely know.But in the end, Christ wins through us;
Such battles as there are, are tough;
But Sun Tsu, Jesus, both agree –
Frustrate alliance, strategy –Before you use your forces there –
That’s Christ’s approach – through love and care;
Just overwhelm their paltry ways,
And watch! for wholeness big-time pays.Thanks Lord for this.
