“Is There A Role For Arrogance?” (Job 40:6-14) [Spanish Jerusalem Bible series – Job sub-series] [Sun Tsu series - First Half Re-Write]

Your “Grandness” like your “Majesty”,
Ingrained “Superiority”,
Your arrogance, and pent-up wrath
Are nothing – they just make me laugh.

You think there is some role for those
In squishing evil twixt your toes;
Well, think again, my naďve friend,
You’ll clobbered be, if you depend –

On sultry looks to win the fight.
With evil, satan, late some night;
You’ve had it, bub, give head a shake;
It’s time that you were wide awake.

For that may work with mortal man,
But not with evil – Satan can
Take you down swiftly – look, there Job,
He took you down with few swift blows.

So, first of all, on Kingdom-layer
Take refuge – time to get prepared
For what’s ahead – grow up, my man;
A body-part you’ll be, and can –

Have better time in conflict zone;
Look ’round – you lost your kin, your home,
Your means of earning daily bread,
And status, now you’ve lost your spread.

Then, as a body-part of Christ,
You’ll find His power will suffice
To deal with evil His own way
(Reverse of Satan’s, I must say).

You’ll find self doing this and that
At Christ’s behest – lay evil flat
As you give room for Him to add
His loving touch from Kingdom-land.

Lord, I’d not thought ’bout “Arrogance”
As human’s tool for self-defense,
Or putting down the evil ’round
“As if” – indeed, thought is not sound.

For make-believe, is nonsense here,
As Sun Tzu says – ’bout this be clear,
This is no place for “Think and pray” –
That’s what comes first, before this day.

But in the storm speak to the storm.
When you’re advised, that he be warned
To back off! Now! Enough of this!
“Stu, that’s the power of Kingdom-kiss.”

So, Lord, thanks for that timely word –
My “Channeled water” was absurd –
It could not take that weight – who knew
What speaking to the storm could do?

Thanks Lord for this.
