“Get Real, My Friend ” (Job 40:7-14; 1 Corinthians 15:24-28) Jerusalem Bible Series - Job sub-series] [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write – General]
“Crush evil doers where they are”, he says,
“And bury them together in the dust”;
“Lock them away where they can do no harm;
Where their sad antics simply mold, and rust.“Do you think that is going to do the trick?
You don’t know evil – think it’s ’bout those folks;
This situation’s bigger than you think;
Far more than silly stuff of films and jokes.“If you can fix the real problem here,
I’ll sing your praise to you and all around –
That mighty Job has brought old Satan down;
The victory’s yours – let Angels’ praise abound.”Lord, in such words I hear the author’s voice –
Narrator tells the story in his words;
His purpose is to state some simple facts
His readers miss, when other Scripture’s heard.“Don’t under-estimate”, old Sun Tsu says,
“Your enemy – know well before you fight; ”
That’s Your department, Lord – to swamp with love
Requires the same approach as misused might.Your long-term plan for taking evil down
Involves us also, if we’ll lend a hand,
By being “Body-part” – You’ll work through us,
Defeating evil, Your way, in this land.Thanks Lord for this.
