“Here We Go Again...”

Well, Lord, I’d say, “Here comes the rain”,
Third time around, not quite the same;
I found roof-shingles smashed to flakes
Which covered gutter-covers – lakes –

Of water poured on patio;
“Enough already!” “Time to go
Off to some other bailiwick” –
Two weather-systems stalled – so sick –

And tired of rainfall coming down;
It’s saturated all the ground
For miles around, so River’s up
Two feet – for run off’s room enough.

Lord, so far basement is still dry;
Replacement roof (not by and by
But in the meantime) – soon there’ll be
Dry shingles overhead for me.

Two hours ’till we’ve had worst of it;
Though thunder’s heard – should move off quick
And give us time to dry again;
Thanks Lord, for easing former pain.

Thanks Lord for this.
