“The Freakness (sic) Race” (Matt.26:41) [Pandemic Series]

The “Preakness Race”, of Triple Crown.
For most of us (once beaten down),
Might best be termed the “Freakness Race.”
As we freak out, or face dis-grace.

Lord, Friday afternoon is bad
For folks like us – with context sad;
Not sure how others cope these days,
As things collapse in many ways.

Lord, as the weekend comes once more,
And life implodes outside each door,
I pray for those who, on this day,
Have little else but “Watch and pray”.

I hope, like on that final day
Of life for You, they find a way
To look more up, then out today,
And in Your loving arms might stay.

Lord, Job went through all this in You –
Faced life, and knew not what to do;
He’d lost it all, or pretty much,
All ’cept his “Friends” who kept in touch –

As well as wife, and one more guy,
And You, who did not let him die,
Though he was wrecked – it all collapsed;
His days for hope in life now passed.

The question raised still haunts me, Lord –
“How are you doing with your sword
And armaments against the foe
(That’s satan) – “I’m not well, You know”.

That would be our response, as well –
As we encounter bits of hell;
Lord, help us to abide in You,
And learn today what we should do.

“Well, Stu, it’s now you know the score,
As you peruse what’s out your door –
Response was too simplistic then –
Let’s take another look, again –

“Then maybe we can open up
A way for all that’s not so tough;
So hang in, Stuie babe, that’s all,
As you engage once more that wall.

Thanks Lord for this.
