“The Day Humanity Died” (1 Corinthians 5:45, 47; Romans 6:5) [Pandemic series]

I had not realized the thought he’d said
First time or two in book of Nee’s I’d read –
“Humanity, that’s every one of us,
Died on the cross in that first Easter fuss”.

That is, God placed us all in Christ – he died
Then rose again, in Kingdom he abides;
Know that, then reckon it, your life will change –
Old Adam died, God’s judgment does not change.

But Christ arose, as “Second man”, and we
Included are, new life now starts for me;
As I become aware and reckon that,
My life re-starts – I reckon on that fact.

In Christ there is a new humanity
By faith, that is, available for me;
But more important is this insight now –
We all have died; in Christ – God has allowed –

Us to partake in Kingdom-layer life
He had in mind before dark Eden’s night
Where Adam bought the package satan sold
Him on – got booted out, so we are told.

The implications of this poetry
Of life and death are huge, for now I see
As I look ’round at our humanity
We’re “One” – pandemic’s helped all people see.

But more than that, we’re one in Christ who died
And rose again; opt in, go for the ride,
Or be a “Zombie” – “Night of the living dead”;
The choice is ours – good news indeed I’ve read.

So what’s the difference twixt myself and “them”?
Why nothing! “They” don’t realize – “ahem!
Are you aware that everything has changed?
Arrangements for the globe are re-arranged?”

Lord, that’s a liberating thought he holds
Up for consideration – bids “Be bold –
In Christ, for all that other stuff is “Gone”,
And “Freedom now in Christ” is our new song”.

Thanks Lord for this.
