“Two Men” (Proverbs 10:8) [Spanish Bible -Proverbs Series #10-8]

The first man was sincere, it seems;
No-nonsense, circumspect of means;
Accepting place in structured line
As part of scene – he made out fine.

The second was a charlatán
A windbag, phony, kind of man
He ran, not walked, into collapse,
Catastrophe – folks did not laugh.

I saw a film back years ago –
A Line; A Squiggle; Dot” – it showed
The benefits of ordered life
Compared to running into strife.

Church “Orders” once were spoken of
In Sun Tzu’s sense – with ranks above
And those below – efficiency
Through structured life to victory.

But in these words I hear reverse
Like anarchists whose ways would burst
All bonds of reason, structured life;
Some run to that, and think they’re bright.

While others are accepting of
More structured ways of showing love;
The part I missed before in this
Was chaos smashing world to bits.

I played the role of ordered life
Played by the book (Jacques said it right)
I could not fathom how that guy
(And wife) made mayhem on the fly.

He did not plan a process where
His goals were reached – he did not care
For anyone except himself
(And wife) the rest he could not help.

But then, I see, on looking back,
You used that, Lord, in Your attack –
“Hey Stu, you’ll take the fall in this,
As obstacles get blown to bits”.

For that’s what Paul referred to here
As Spirit’s Jubilee – made clear
In sermon preached once by a friend –
“Christ’s Jubilee – you comprehend?”

Thanks Lord for this.
