“Steady As a Rock” (Mt.28:20; Is.28:16; Lk.6:48) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write # – 1:6B]

Which one is steady as a rock?
Sincere, trustworthy, more than talk
That’s cheap as borscht? Who is believed?
And credible to those He leads?

Christ said, “No soldier’s left behind”;
I’ll never leave you in a bind;
Foundation-stone for building on,
Unlike some beech – with tide, it’s gone.

For steadfast, loyal, present, firm,
Are traits in Christ we often learn
To practice in our Sunday school,
Or in our homes, where solid’s cool.

Not so with satan’s way of life,
With selfishness behind the knife
He slides between our ribs to kill,
If such should further selfish will.

At least God says, “Don’t trust mere men;
Trust God alone”, and then again,
“Love mankind (for their welfare work)”;
The other way just doesn’t work.

For man’s not perfect, all betray
The next one over – that’s the way
Life works in world since Adam’s day;
“Trust God; love man’s” a better way.

Again I’d say Christ’s better chief –
From satan’s ways we need relief;
Pin of the pinwheel, Kingdom-layer –
Great place to stand and grow up there.

Thanks Lord for this.
