“Play Them like A Fiddle – But Play Your Own Tune” [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write # – B 1:9]
Christ is the brains behind the brawn
To those who’ve to the Kingdom gone;
Have joined with others – body parts,
When on some mission He’s embarked.Some mission of unbidden care;
Some touch of love from Kingdom-layer;
Some deft strategic sleight-of-hand
To make life better in some land.So all this planning, thinking ’bout
How best to act, and journey’s route,
Is Jesus’ part – Field Marshall goes
For Father-God – that’s good to know.Our job as body-part of Christ
Is act when asked; to heed advice;
Do what, and when, and how, and where,
To whom, for cause He’s figured there.Like Sun Tsu mimics, Christ now plays
His tunes in most strategic ways,
On target situations – folks
Play out His tunes – like April jokes.We play the fools for Christ sometimes –
It looks to some we’ve lost our minds,
But we’ve the mind of Christ today,
So wise or dumb – we play His way.So dekes and feints are part of it,
As Christ plays satan’s gang to fit
His fiddle-tune to needs at hand –
Strategic love – His favored brand.We learn to move alone, in sync
With others, often need to think
With mind of Christ out in the field,
Like when to move and when to yield.Most times love is conventional
That forms a base, though folks can’t tell
Because things stay unfocused ’till
Last-minute when they “Snap to” will.Some troops deploy as special force
Like adjuncts to the normal course
Of things – to hit strategically
When openings come suddenly.Off-balance, satan’s guys remain;
Unable to advance their game
Until too late – touché – Christ’s kiss –
Delivered in such times as this.Lord, what a blast this is, indeed,
To step up when You bid us heed
Some brilliant play, life-giving now,
Which gives You room to act somehow.Thanks Lord for this.
