“The Comb-Through –A – Moral High Ground” (Lk.14:28; Jn.15:15;12:4; 10:10; 15:13;;1Jn.2:16; Mt.22:38) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write # Ch.1:2-A]

God did not rush into a war
The minute satan hit the door
To set up shop his “better way”,
Thus bringing mayhem down our way.

No, God stepped back and looked around,
Checked from five vantage points – so sound
Would be decisions in the end;
For stakes were high – how best to mend?

Christ does that too (Field General,
In charge of task – ephemeral
To those of us made out of clay,
Empowered by sun which shines all day).

It’s good to see what He’s about
As we press on in Him, no doubt
He’s really good at what He does;
His body parts, we are, because –

Christ pulled us out of muddy mess;
Puts us on Kingdom-layer to bless
Us on our way – matured in Him;
Long way to go – here, we begin.

We opted into life in Christ,
As body-parts – His life and light
Move us along on Kingdom-layer,
Empowered by grace, new life of prayer.

Five ways Christ looks at life on earth,
As He assesses conflict’s worth;
There’s lots of “Ways, and way, a way” –
Let Him assess; on layer stay.

He asks, of course, right off the bat,
“Who holds high moral ground?” That
Is what it’s really all about –
In mind of Christ, there is no doubt.

For that defines how both sides act,
And what each battles for, in fact –
For satan? Power and resource base,
With him on top, defines his case.

His methods? Steal, destroy, and kill;
Exert conniving vicious will;
The “Mean and mean” sum up his stance,
Where pride abounds in fancy pants.

Christ’s way? Check out Assisi’s prayer;
The Golden rule; and freedom’s air;
How Christ behaves? “I lose; you win”;
satan’s reverse – “To start, I win”.

The Scripture’s full of ways and means,
Good in themselves, but now it seems
A life in Christ – His life through us –
Confronts old satan midst the fuss.

For “There’s a high way and a low;
Each soul decides which way to go”
In times of peace and gentle ease,
Or when there’s turmoil on the breeze.

So, pause with Christ, look ’round a bit –
To win means loss; lose first to fit –
“I have no interest”, my friend said,
“In being last on earth that’s dead.”

That’s not a line that satan says,
As he on people burden lays;
“Come unto me”, Christ said of old,
Take on My yoke, My easy load.”

So at the first, Christ looks at this;
For me, effect of heaven’s kiss
In this or that wee skirmish here
(At times, from front lines I’m kept clear).

Who’s got the high ground in this “Way”;
Is this a time to go or stay?
Christ asks right off – he does not change
Nor moral high ground rearrange.

Lord, as I look around right now,
Take in this word as You allow,
Help me to learn in prayer-full dance,
To grow Your way; give love a chance.

Thanks Lord for this.
