“The Fifth And Final Check” (Mt.23:4;11:28;23:44,27; 5:1; 28:20; Jn.8:44;Ex.5:16;1 Cor.13; Is.40) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write # – 1:6E]

The fifth and final check of all,
When asking which one best stands tall
As leader in the coming fray,
Is discipline – “Strict-sternness” way.

For wishy-washy will not cut
The mustard – there’s no room for buts;
For war is brutal, one can lose,
If discipline one does not use.

Well satan is not known for ease –
He’s cruel, a tyrant if you please;
He cons, cajoles, and bribes his way,
To get the rest his game to play.

His strictness is to bully folks;
Increase the burden of their yolks;
Enslave, not set folks free to be
his servants, voluntarily.

his lies, designed for strong allure
Are insincere, for, to be sure,
his end-game is where he’s on top
Of one and all, and all he’s got.

Enforcement, like those Roman whips,
Or those of Egypt, he insists
Are needed – that’s his discipline –
Against, not for the good of men.

And Christ? He made disciples too,
Encouraged us then so to do;
He started out with four, then twelve,
Then seven-two – confronted hell.

Bid His “Apostles” to go out
And boundary-cross, to spread about
Good news of freedom, Jubilee
In Him – tell others, “Follow Me”

He said to pass on what He taught;
Obedience, through which is wrought
New life in Him – “Disciple” word’s
Like “Discipline” – taught – once they’ve heard.

His regimen is “Easy yoke”;
Life’s burdens gone; with time to joke;
But always, “Final reckoning”,
“How’d you make out with ‘Loving’ thing?

“Sheep from the goats – which side you on?
In testing times, do you belong
With me, by grace, now stepping forth
As I direct, God as your source?

“Or are you with old satan now?
Pretending I all things allow,
As if outside of Eden’s gate
Is same as inside? – Bad choice, mate.”

So Christ forgives, is patient, yet,
Insists in all, we not forget
His ways are Father’s up above;
Not ways of man – all push and shove.

So we need training how to love –
To give cold water from above,
That they rise up on Eagle’s wings
Like kites in wind, where Spirit sings.

The war He fights is not like ours –
He’s smart, with clever use of power;
Asks us (now free), to others free
In ways quite challenging to see.

So all of this demands high skill;
Responsiveness to Jesus will,
As He directs, God’s general,
Though leadership’s ephemeral.

Thanks Lord for this.
