“My Story” [Photo Institute – course #1]

Well, not has sluggish in this time, Lord,
Two days or so since spoken word
From You said, “Sign up, pay your dues,
Don’t mess this up, or chance you’ll lose.”

This time I said, “Oh, what the heck,
Let go right quick, or this one’s wrecked”
So signed, and paid, and sent my blurb
About my current fix – absurd –

But they shot back – “Hey, my name’s Steve
I’ll be your photo-tutor – leave
A brief few words about your self
And hopes you have, like hand you’re dealt.”

I did, and he said, “Therapy”
Is photo-art – let story be
A part of this, not off to side
Despite its grim unpleasant side.

“I’m into stories, big time, man
Look at my website if you can –
It’s all about folks’ storied lives
We tell for them – how each one thrives”.

I looked, and read through “Module One”
On cameras, lenses – once begun
I sensed a teacher had made this
Explained it well – for heaven’s kiss.

Lord, I had no idea – fought
Instructions you passed on – I balked
But this time said, “Okay”, right quick
And the blessed I’ve been because of it.

Thanks Lord for guiding me this day
Into this land of photo-way
Of doing life – I’ve got today
Tomorrow? More than I can say.

But thanks for this auspicious start
To what it is that’s on Your heart;
Help me to buckle down, tie-in,
To photo-life – I now begin.

Thanks Lord for this.
