“Now You See Him, Now You Don't” [Spanish Jerusalem Bible Series - Job sub-series - # 1:6] (# Job 1:6; Lk.10:18)
It seems that satan hung around a spell,
Then fell from heaven (on his way to hell);
In Job we find him cynical at best,
Then he took off – to that our Christ attests.So what’s that say to me, today, O Lord?
That things can change for better, worse – Your word
Appears to show how satan started out
A cynic – testing what he came to doubt.But time moved on, and satan lost his place
And fell from heaven, much to his disgrace;
In which I hear a word of caution, Lord –
“The cynic’s poking ’round seems quite absurd –But never stops there, it continues down
To lower levels where no life is found;
A “Book of Names” denotes the folks who’ve found
A better way to do their lives – quite sound.Lord, in Your word, you say, “Move into life;
Stay on God’s Kingdom-layer above the strife;
No, you’re not perfect – satan knows full well,
But road you’re on the leads upward, not to hell”.So at this point it seems Job took a hit,
Then, in the end moved on in spite of it;
Things haven’t changed ’round here, for in our day,
The issue still remains – we choose our way.Thanks Lord for this.
