“What Kingdom-Layer Relieves” [Reflections On Charles H. Parkhurst (ed) Portraits And Principles of The World's Great Men And Women, N.Y. : Springfield:The King-Richardson Co. 1899 - #99/100]

On reading this wee toxic tome,
I realize that’s why my home
On Kingdom-layer so precious is –
It leaves behind guilt-monger’s biz.

For here, relieved of failure’s crap,
Stone walls that bar, rejection that
Inhibits life on earth for all –
No wait for “Heaven” from Adam’s fall.

Lord all the work that Father did
To make this space for us to live,
I so appreciate today
In You, indeed You’ve made a way –

For us to live above, beyond,
As Spirit-led – our joyful song
Is, “Chains are gone; I’ve been set free”,
For here and now is Jubilee.

That “Almost true” stuff we were fed
Of mini-law, which preachers said,
Still left impossible our lives
Amidst the world of slander, knives.

That was both ways – all lived that way;
This Kingdom-life gives better way
To live our lives, released today
From fear and guilt – “I’m free!”, I say.

Thanks Lord for this.
