“Pan” [Spanish language series]
“Gracias Señor por la pan”, I said;
Through silent stoppage the boy was led;
Complexities of the process there
Exposed became, most were un-declared.Like “la” and “el” – slip of memory?
Or more beneath for us all to see?
In Costa Rica – is it “la” or “el”?
Up here it’s “la” – any girl will tell –You that girls earn bread, bring bacon home;
The guys are jerks – like for bees, are drones –
“We keep them around for their sperm supply;
So bread is “la”, and I’ll tell you why –“The slip he made quite subconsciously
Revealed a piece of reality –
The bread was procured by a woman’s hands,
So “la” is the flag we use for “pan”.“The silence itself quite revealing is –
It’s surface talk in the language biz;
If one goes beneath and searches deep,
We’re concerned the truth is what we’ll see.“And women here under radar fly –
We’re “Innocent”, quite unlike the guys;
We’re the “Victims” – that’s the role we play;
So “la” was the word for “pan” today”.Okay Lord, thanks for this.
