“Traitors” (1 Peter 5:8; Luke 13:32; Numbers 13 and 14; Joshua 2:1ff) [Reflections on Sun Tsu's Art Of War #13–1C-1]

A “Traitor” of the “Local type”
Is one of five who brings to light
Those useful tidbits critical
To outside forces – Biblical –

Example of this type of spy
Was harlot helping out to guys
Sent into Canaan to check out
What opposition was about.

To those attacking she’s “Type one”
To those attacked, she’s just a bum –
A traitor – viewing other side
As winning fight – so saves her hide.

When all five types of spies are used,
And no one knows – King cannot lose,
Because their ways cannot be seen
Their routes and system’s “Divine Skein” –

To outside eyes – “Miraculous”;
To King, they are just “Genius”;
Most valued treasure to the force;
Quite “Spiritual” as misty source.

“Agents-in-place”, they’re sometimes called;
A “Native” force within the walls;
These local folks make extra cash
For sharing info – this and that.

Kind treatment wins these services;
They’re everywhere a conflict is;
A king can use them in his land,
Like Stalin and his merry band.

“Loose lips sink ships” ties in right here –
Such local spies keep sharp their ears
To pick up hints and clues of use
To enemy, from lip that’s loose.

Lord, you were saved by one of these,
Who warned of Herod seeking Thee;
I see we too can be forewarned,
Like Joseph of that coming storm –

When you were just a baby, Lord,
An angel in a dream shared word –
“Get out of Dodge, their Joe, my man;
I’ll say when coming home you can”.

I’m hearing, sometimes we’re of use
To You as well, when Satan’s loose,
To warn, advise – best be alert
To others active in Your work.

Lord, I see best I shut my face;
Much bigger this for human race;
Thanks for the heads up ’bout this scene;
Clued out indeed I see I’ve been.

Thanks Lord for this.
