“Armories And Magazines” (Ephesians 6:10; Luke 22:36; Matthew 4:1ff; 16:23; John 13:2; 18; 1 Peter 5:8) [Reflections on Sun Tsu's Art Of War #12-1C]

As armories and mag’s store weapons up,
Sun Tzu said using fire can be enough
To turn the tide of battle in his day;
A careful use of fire can their display –

Intelligence, enlightenment – it’s smart;
A clarity’s displayed, right at the start –
Reveals a first-class mind as General;
For other side it’s more a funeral.

That goes for all five ways of fire’s use –
To limit other’s weapons tightens noose
Around their neck and makes for speedy end
To wars and battles army must attend.

Of course reverse applies to you as well –
A loss of weapons in a fire is hell,
So keep an eye out for a wisp of smoke,
And heed those words of caution Sun Tsu spoke.

Paul cautioned us to use full armament
In battles evil brings – offense, defense,
That in the end we’re standing on our feet –
Withstanding evil’s onslaught – victory.

For truth can take a hit in heat of day;
And righteousness through fingers slip away;
Our peace-based readiness for battle’s call,
Can flee in panic, when we feel so small.

When faith is gone, the flaming arrows hit
Our selves, possessions, seldom do they miss
The things and people held most dear to us;
View of salvation’s lost amidst the fuss.

Our rhema-words can melt away so fast;
And prayer as weapon drop in evil’s blast;
The Spirit’s help like morning mist dissolves
As fear in face of raging flames evolves.

Lord, now I see how evil takes its toll
On those whose New Jerusalem is goal;
As Yankees say it’s “HUA” all the way –
“Heard, Understood, Accepted” here today.

Lord help me understand offensive here,
For defense is, through Paul, made somewhat clear;
“Stu, sword of rhema-word, and fervent prayer,
Are for offense on spirit of the air.

“So look more closely at Gethsemane,
Temptation story – satan versus me;
Some healing scenes in casting spirits out,
And you’ll see what offense is all about.”

Thanks Lord for this.
