“Doubling Down” (Genesis 4:1ff; Romans 8:28; Revelation 21:5) [Reflections on Sun Tsu's Art Of War #13- Title]
If agents are linchpins to all of Sun Tsu,
Then “Doubling” over is what you might do –
“Converted” to your side, or “Turned” if you will,
“Reverse” spies are basis for gathering swill.That’s swill on the other guy’s country and King;
Swill on their army, spy-agency thing;
Swill on their movements, and ways that they think;
Swill on most anything showing a chink –A chink in their armor which you might exploit –
Like names of the greedy that locals employ
For anything wanted, as each have a price –
Such locals as agents can give you advice.And lists of the ministers in King’s employ
Quite easy to bribe as a mole, girl or boy;
The lay of the land; its conditions right now;
And plans of the King, detailed down to the “How”.So I’d name this chapter, more, “Doubling Down”
To emphasize basis of Sun Tsu’s renown;
For he says himself, they are King of all spies,
And spies in five flavors help kingdoms survive.Are we double-agents, who sell evil out?
We’re sure in position to bandy about
The info we’ve learned from our days in the field,
Like Cain slaying able, from envy or greed.I’d never considered experience bad
As useful to You, Lord – for it is quite sad;
You turn it, just like us, and a double it down,
As “all works for good” in Your Kingdom-layer ground.Thanks Lord for this.
