“No Half-Vast Victory” (Psalm 115:16) [Sun Tsu series 10 – 7B]

When mix and match is finished up,
And you’re informed more than enough,
No half-vast victory is yours,
But full, complete, will be the score.

Of course, that means applying it –
Some folks fall back, as they see fit,
On understanding how things mesh;
Such efforts then are meaningless.

Three parts – know self, and enemy,
As well as context you will be
Involved in – both the earth and sky;
Poor battlegrounds and reasons why.

All this comes from experience,
Both for advance and for defense;
Both Christ and evil are aware
Of all of this – so hey! Beware!

They do not wander ’round confused,
For they have no bewildered views,
Make no mistakes, delusions none;
Their movement’s swift, once they’ve begun.

Resource for both is infinite;
Exhaustion’s not a part of it;
Impoverished? Need of retreat?
For neither side is there defeat.

So Christ, You know all this as fact;
Your actions are by wisdom backed;
As we engage ’neath Your command,
We can, in You, take Kingdom’s stand.

I also hear to be aware –
The foe You battle’s smart, prepared,
Well-resourced, and experienced –
Don’t trust yourself with your defense.

Lord, all this helps to set things straight,
As we on Kingdom-layer await
Your word to take on this or that,
In doing so lay evil flat.

For in it I am made aware
Of love You have for all, and care
Extended to all folk below,
Not just to us and those we know.

Indeed as Paul wrote years ago,
The enemy’s not folks we know,
But principalities and powers
Who try to wreck this world of ours.

Thanks for these insights Lord, this day;
And for the chance to future sway,
Not in and by ourselves, that’s clear,
But as Your body-life – no fear.

Thanks Lord for this.
