“Don’t Forget The Context” [Sun Tsu series 10 – 7A]

There’s lots of folks who knows Sun Tsu,
At least in part – can say to you
The bit about just knowing self
Or enemy is half the wealth –

Of knowledge needed to clean up;
For half-vast knowing makes it tough
To have clear victory for you,
So take the time to know – then choose.

But here, Sun Tsu adds in as well,
That knowing “land” can also tell
If you can have a full victory,
Despite which half’s seen formerly.

For if the context is not good
For fighting in – six understood
To be unsuitable, he said –
To there engage you’d be misled.

So what he’s saying is, “A mix
Is what’s emerging – best to fix
This ‘context’ issue, for it kills
All factors in the mixing mill.

Lord, I’m impressed at what You do
In sorting out if it is cool
For us to get involved, in You,
A three-way mix – so quickly fooled.

So if by love, Your enemies
Will through our actions see defeat,
We need to listen to Your word,
That context-caution now be heard.

For sometimes You’ve a better way,
A better time, a better day,
A better channel than our troops,
Lest half-vast efforts end in “oops”.

I think of counseling – You care
About the channel You’ve prepared,
Which is a better way by far
Than our specific efforts are.

I think of cash as medium
Of counseling – for folks have come
To disregard its potency
Beyond engagement’s entry fee.

So it’s available to be
A vehicle for love – I see
So much potential – potency
Untapped, in wait as Jubilee!

So too with others on the team
Like counselors and preachers keen
To share their piece of insight new;
A shift in context gives to You –

A chance to blow such folks away
Engulfed in love, Your winsome way,
So end-game of their Jubilee
Is set in motion – wrought by Thee.

Thanks Lord for this.
