“Don’t Trigger Desperation” (John 3:1-21;Lk.13:32;Mk.14:42-52; Mt.28:20) [Sun Tzu series 7 – 21, 22, 23]

“Despair” and “Desperation” are quite similar in fact;
Despair is loss of hope, and desperation’s how folk act
When there’s no way all this works out (some crazy stunts are pulled);
So be aware of what you do, it’s best that folks are lulled –

Into the thought, “There is a way to get out of this mess”;
Not really; but it’s best they think that way; but nonetheless
You will not trigger in your foe the “Courage of despair”;
So back away, and feed some hope, by giving them some air.

When heading home, exhausted, don’t obstruct the enemy;
You block, or intercept, or thwart their efforts you will see,
By stomping on them going home you’ll call forth energy
That makes them far more dangerous than otherwise would be.

If you surround an army, like on Dunkirk’s beach that day,
You must allow a way for him to think he’ll get away;
Besieged with no way out, you’ll trigger “Courage of despair”,
So let him think he can escape – it’s more than “Playing fair”.

For war is ’bout destruction, smashing down an enemy;
So pressing when not warranted, much worse is what will be;
That you don’t need, so be like Christ – sometimes a loss is win;
He did that with old satan – broke for us the power of sin.

Old satan thought he’d won the day, but Jesus had his way –
His twelve Apostles ran a way to fight another day;
They scattered out across the globe, and took with them good news,
That Christ had beat old satan down, now “Kingdom” folks could choose.

To take a hit so others live is also part of this;
They often work together – “Spirit warfare” does resist
The evil one, and all his band of nasties in the world,
But “Biding time”, and “Taking hit” pay off amidst this swirl.

Thanks Lord for this.
