“Getting There” [Sun Tsu series 9 – 1E (= To end of 9 – 4)]
The martial arts we see today
Began in Yellow Leader’s day;
Two four zero zero B.C.E.
When these ideas came to be.In general troops like to camp
In sunny heights – and hate the damp –
Low-lying land they all despise;
Good spots like these, I realize –Relate to long-time field campaigns –
The low and dark, should they remain,
Would mean a bad time had by troops;
So sunny heights please camping groups.Tied in with this is rocky start;
The rivers Moses did not for them part;
Salt marshes with now water clear;
And flat plateaus with danger near.It was the Yellow Fellow then,
Who used four principles to bend
His conflicts with his enemies
To his desires – his troops were pleased.So from that time, troops work this way;
Use camping guide for where to stay;
So getting to the battlefield
Less pain and better outcomes yield.So too with Christ who tends his troops –
Concern He shows for fighting groups;
Each hair is numbered; sparrow counts;
No one’s concern will He renounce.He cautions us, “Go left”; “Go right”;
“Speed up you guys, for love of Mike!”
“For battlefield is up ahead;
No point if you arrive half dead.”Well, Lord, I start to get the point –
A long campaign – when You anoint
Each one of us to do some task,
Is well thought through, ’fore we are asked.Thanks Lord for this.
