“Some Signs Are Obvious” [Sun Tzu series #9-9]

It’s hard to act and not be seen,
So keep your eyes alert and keen;
For you will see strange things around,
Some signs of actions, tricks for mind.

Experience helps out in this –
While some trees move, the rest are missed;
Some undergrowth looks fortified
With blinds and obstacles besides –

Could mean a booby trap, or not;
Advancing troops from certain spot;
A path is cleared or cluttered up;
The things you see, make viewing tough.

Lord, what I hear is, “stay in You
In all we think, and say, and do,
Including watching for the foe –
Don’t trust the things we think we know.

For mis-direction central is
When evil-one approaches biz,
Or individual alone,
Or couple, family at home.”

“It’s fine, there is no problem here;
It’s harmless; nothing here to fear;”
How often those are words we hear,
Or “Danger!” When the coast is clear.

Lord, I find Scripture is of help,
Just reading, not just on the shelf;
It’s like it breaks the road’s allure,
And helps me know a lot for sure.

So, thank You for such central way
To course-correct here day to day,
Lest enemy deflect my path,
And take me in, as in the past.

Thanks Lord for this.
