“A Peace (sic) Of The Kingdom” (Isaiah 61:1 ff; 30:15; John 15; Luke 10:25-37) [Sun Tsu series #9-8]

Some ground, as Sun Tsu pointed out, is better to defend;
Folks know that most instinctively and will not condescend
To move out from their sheltered lair into such open ground,
When they can sit tight, wait it out, ’till enemy comes ’round.

So if up close they stay right there, and quietly remain;
Or further out they rattle swords and hope you’ll play the game
Ahead where there’s advantages you might or might not see –
When things look all too good for you, and ambush it might be.

Remember, they will cut their losses, and reduce the pain,
Especially if they must move along in their campaign;
So ask why they now move (or not)? What is it they can see,
Which you are missing on this plain? And you’ll much safer be.

Two things stand out – first, “Barriers” beneath the Kingdom-layer
The second, where’s “Advantage”? What’s responsive other player?
Lord, as You crush Your enemies beneath Your feet today,
Help us to stay in You – remain, protected all the way.

A wisp of tantalizing bait, and I am out the door;
An opportunity to win appears, don’t ask, “What for?”
As married folks with families, and friendships all around,
Such situations multiply so sucker-moves abound.

Take, in Your case, those traps they set to get You to commit
To situations quite secure to them, so gave you lip;
But you saw through their phoniness, and drilled down to the core,
While opening up a Kingdom space in which there’s so much more.

Lord, in my case, I do the same, I’d bait folks to respond;
Or silent stay while being close, as if of them I’m fond;
Not really (though I long to be), outsider-status mine;
In You and on Your Kingdom layer, I’ve found position fine.

When we are quiet in our hearts, and minds, and bodies, souls,
Much better are we set to work with You towards Your goal,
Of putting enemies beneath Your feet and setting free
The people trapped here in our land which is Your Jubilee.

“Not everyone wants out right now, so patience is our game;
Sit tight until I give the word to ease their load of pain;
They think, “No pain, no gain” (it’s true) but they don’t see it right –
They’ve bought into the push and shove of ‘cash that follows fight’.

“There are rewards in life set free from nonsense world has bought,
So live it out, most temptingly, and flaunt the peace you’ve got;
Grow up in Me, on Kingdom-layer, and when it’s time to move,
I’ll let you know; so off you go, and what you’ve gained, improve.”

Okay Lord thanks for this.
