“Get Out Of There, Fast!” [Sun Tzu series 9:1C] (Psalm 139:7; 1 Corinthians 6:12-20; 1 Timothy 6:3-11; 2 Timothy 2:22-26; James 4:7)
There’s lots of swampy ground in life,
Some’s toxic to the troops, some’s nice;
But it’s no place to hang your hat –
Get out of there – be done with that.For water is a problem there;
And fodder for the beasts which bear
The burden of your tools and toys;
It’s vulnerable to vicious ploys.So once you’re through, vacate that place;
Find better ground; don’t hesitate;
You bog down there, it’s end of you –
The best that’s there will never do.The Psalmist says, God’s everywhere;
And James quips devil’s also there;
But God won’t leave, and satan will –
So once he’s gone, head for the hills.In life there’s places we bog down,
Just as in salty, swampy ground –
Sex out of bounds; idolatry;
Desires of youth, the cash we need.For anything can bog one down –
For underneath its gooey ground;
Pay heed to what’s firm underfoot;
Twixt you and swamp quick distance put.Thanks Lord for this.
