“Playing Coy” [Sun Tsu series #9-10&11]
That clichéd scene on movie screen
Between a woman, man, has been
The man aggressive, plays “De man”,
While she plays “Coy” – that’s if she can.“Coy” and “de-coy” – you get the point
Both phony are; Sun Tsu anoints
His hero with discerning eyes –
If he responds with actions wise.To fake confusion is one way
To make folks try and seize the day –
They run about confused, mixed up?
Don’t get sucked in – beneath, they’re tough.Confusion on which way to turn?
Go forward, back? Watch, you will learn –
If they are strong, but seem so weak,
Don’t fall for it – they victory seek.There is confusion troops can take
Then snap into arrays – they fake
A mixed deployment, leaders poor;
Too late you see it was a lure.An empty space with flanks filled up,
Might sucker you to act quite tough;
When all the while an ally comes
And fills the gap with speed that numbs.Peace treaties with all substance gone,
Appeal to hopes of victory won
Without the pain and bloodshed spent;
But it’s like when Great Britain went –To chat with Hitler, stop the war;
He said, “Okay” – but prepped some more,
Then said, “Just kidding – here I come;
We’ll clean your clots – soon we’ll have won.”There is an old theology
Which says that Jesus came to be
The Victor on first Easter day,
By faking weakness, so to say –“Give your best shot, there, satan, chum;
My guys have fled; I am the one
You seek to take from Kingdom game;
I’ve won, but play Me just the same.”Lord we’re all suckers on the day
We see an opening, a way
“We win – we’re right – we don’t need God!
Adam was right, here on the sod.”And then, too late, decoy’s observed,
And we get clobbered – how absurd!
I thank You for Your patience, Lord,
And for Your helpful, guiding word.Thanks Lord for this.
