“Handling Blockages” (Isaiah 40:4, 28-31; Matthew 5:14; 21:2) [Sun Tzu series 9 – 1]

Have Kingdom-view from Kingdom-layer,
As Sun Tzu does to view these players;
So far it’s pre-engagement stage,
Where rougher times we first engage.

For mountains (not cast in the sea)
Are barriers – their heights can be
Quite treacherous for lots of troops,
So check ahead for valley routes.

Cut through such obstacles real quick;
The other side has foothills slick
As scenes for fighting, camping, view,
Without the mountain-dangers new.

A hillock’s sunny side is best,
With the valley-floor at hand – your quest
For ideal spot to place your troops,
Should look like this along your route.

If enemy arrived there first
Don’t fight uphill, you’ll get their worst;
The sunny side is healthier
So take the high view, then don’t stir.

Keep up to date, your data fresh –
See how terrain and plans can mesh
For you (as well as enemy);
Stay out of land when bad you see.

Our General has such a view,
And sees what we are coming to;
He knows we’re in the rough sometimes,
And if we’re going to be in line –

To be of use, His work to do;
He has best place for me and you;
His striking force includes the scouts,
Who well observe the quickest route.

Quite often we are moved around –
How puzzling – why pick this ground?
It’s only later we can see
Advantages which kept us free.

Lord, you’ve invited us up there
To Kingdom-view on Kingdom-layer,
That we skate over obstacles,
Then mountains are just spectacles.

So rough-stretch-one is mountain range –
Pass through these quickly, don’t engage
The enemy now stationed there;
Seek good and bad admixed – prepare –

For both – advantage take of good,
But bad avoid – once understood,
There’s no surprise there by the foe –
Each rocky hiding place you’ll know.

Lord, what I’m hearing gives new scope
To obstacles which shut down hope;
My first reaction? Lash out, hate;
But your advice is good – “Best wait –

“Press on for foothills, don’t fight there,
If you can manage it – compare
The ‘pos’ and ‘neg’ of mountains, hills;
Move fast through valleys, then be still.”

Lord, I’d not understood all this
How best to act when blocks resist
One’s forward movement – goodness knows
I’ve seen my share – been stopped by those –

Which I now see can better be
Traversed quite quickly, so I’ll see
The hills where “neg’s” outweighed by “pos” –
Engagement there assists Your cause.

Thanks Lord for this.
