“Retro-Pixels” [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #98]

What started out as seven-two
Per inch – “A marvel!” “Something new!”
Was advent of the printer, game;
Life from that time? Forever changed.

Two fifty-six made colors shift,
So “Gaudy” got a color lift
To almost what we see each day;
And graphics came with joysticks’ play.

Now pixilated print is rare;
And screens just use it to compare
The “Now” with “Primitive” of old,
Or scoff at moderns shunning bold.

But I have seen enough to view
The present “Best” with morrow’s “New”
Which laughs at pixels on our screens,
And thinks our “Whiz-bang’s” somewhat lean.

Thanks Lord for this.
