“Demarking territory” [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #100 and End Of Series]

At one time, artists flogged their wares
In person – big displays prepared
To show a client, who flipped through
The pages showing “What I do”.

Now all that’s gone – it’s on the web;
The buyers go where they are led;
Designers work as best they can
To lead them forth like shepherd’s lambs.

Some seek to flaunt diversity;
Or blend of skills so all can see
The sorts of products they could make,
Within the scope of digi-scape.

Amazing are such folks to me –
Some writers make designs I see,
So I should check – “Augmented Text”
Could now exist – and be the best.

Thanks for this journey through this book,
And at this industry a look
At signposts through the ages past,
Which come to end for me at last.

Thanks Lord for this.
