“Salt For The Porridge” [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #81]

The spoofing, anti-culture work
Attacks the corporation jerks
Whose special interests dominate
Society – and seek to make –

Some mayhem – offer anarchy,
Or muddling mediocrity,
As if an easing up would change
That much, when it is quite deranged.

It’s fun, of course, when it’s well done;
We all enjoy self-spoofing fun
(Except the ones who always take
Themselves too serious, and make –

A case quite federal) – relax
Such spoofing costs, and pays a tax;
Who loses? Those who get their share,
Whom one can hardly here compare –

To those who’ve been stepped on by greed,
Or those whose plight’s described by “need”;
So ease ’er up, and join the folk
They’d like to put in corporate yoke.

So Lord, my punchy pictures stuff
Brushed up against this, though quite rough
Compared to slick work done herewith;
Please help me see where mine would fit.

“That’s simple, Stu, you’re on the layer;
No longer part of corporate prayer
For money (or against it, man);
More, pinwheel’s pin, in Beulah land.

“So ease her back, let them play out
Their petty plays, and be about
The use of techniques for My word,
That culture’s richness might be heard”.

Thanks Lord for this.
