“The Empty Look Of Questions” [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #76]

When vacancy or emptiness is feature on a book,
It sparks one’s curiosity – they take a second look;
Like AA book with title, and just blank on the reverse,
They turned the cover inside out, so they need not rehearse –

A speech about its meaning or the problems in one’s life
To one and all, or kith and kin, as they set lives aright;
Sometimes folks need their privacy as they turn ship around,
Without the sand-bar hassle when one’s ship is run aground.

Big title and big authors with thematic logo clue,
Had started in the fifties, forties record-covers too;
Though it’s all morphed into a vague and abstract motif now,
The big book, big look motif was the steppingstone of “how”.

Thanks Lord for this.
