“Augmented Text” [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #75]

Film-title work, I know from mine,
Is graphic arts without a spine –
Until one fellow saw the light
And brought to bear short filmic might.

Since then, of course, awards flow out;
Creatives play, and cast about
For different ways to film begin;
With tickets bought, the artists win.

For no holds barred releases plot
And theme, pre-sequenced – often tops
The charts – awards and accolades
Explode for artist’s thought displayed.

As I think now – augmented text –
How insights here could draw the best
To genre new; who knows? Let’s try,
And share the insights – make it fly!

Lord, mix that up with a photo-book
(Re: “Bored with Photos, Take a Look),
And suddenly life rises up,
And what’s seen there transcends the fluff.

So photo-insights – graphics too –
Which intertwine some story new,
Could augment text like in these shows,
Where credits start ’fore camera roles.

Thanks Lord for this.
