“Don Jamie”

He said he came from work one day,
Took taxicab for which he paid
More than he wanted to, but fare
Got him back home – but unprepared –

He was for interchange that night –
“To Ciudad Colón” (said right);
“Don Jamie?! Ah! At last we meet!
They talk of you, here on the street –

“They say your fair, take first in line;
At last I’ve had my turn – sublime
It is for me to meet at last –
‘Don Jamie’–Ah! This is a blast!”

Lord, in that interchange I hear
A small community – and clear
It is to me, indeed – folks see
Us passing by – far more than we –

Know that we’re seen by one and all,
Who quick assess if great or small
In scale of things – their point of view;
We are all one – our lives from You.

Thanks for this tidbit, telling me
Of daily life we cannot see,
So far away, and yet so near
Of family life – to us so dear.

Thanks Lord for this.
