“Permanezcan” is word that’s used
In Spanish Bible – base of views
He shared last night at Spanish Kirk;
The text itself did half the work.Not for the other folks, perhaps,
But in my case – it’s meaning grasped,
I had so much to feed upon;
I heard the track that he was on.So up from custom’s two percent,
To twenty-five – heard what he meant;
As well as this word for “Abide”
From Christ to fellows by His side.It’s like the word – “Make permanent”
Was at the base of what was meant;
Sure, vine and branch picks up one part,
But this speaks “ser” – “Don’t quick depart”.To me the meaning came right through –
Do life that lies in front of you,
But make the place where you reside
Quite “permanent” – in Christ “Abide”.The tone, for me, as for my kin,
Was “estar”, come and go – begin,
Don’t worry if it fades away;
Like children in the market – play.For life, for me (before), was there,
On earth with barriers – compared
To life on Kingdom-layer, my base
Was not “In Christ” as “Living-space”.But here, the challenge in this word,
If Christ’s palabra’s to be heard,
Is, yes, “Abide”, but there’s much more –
“Make permanent” is at its core.Abide in Me, and I in you;
My words as well – expand your view –
If in My love you will abide,
I’ll always be there by your side.”Lord, that shifts weight of text my way,
As differently I hear You say –
It’s “ser” in life you choose in Me,
And “permanent” it needs to be”.Thanks Lord for this.
