“Upward And Onward” [100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #61]
If I were thinking “up and right”, I’d quite progressive be,
But with the current church in mind, that’s not a pix for me;
More “down and left”, that’s backwards, see, it’s not a pretty sight,
For 1840s is the time for which they’ll stand and fight.It’s not about the “left” or “right” as in the days of yore –
Both viewpoints are entrenched and blind, imbued right to the core
With concepts which are doctrinaire, both ancient and the new;
Not open to the ways of God or Spirit wafting through.But then again, if hope’s the theme and outlook I confess,
Then maybe some diagonals should “up and right” express
My hope within a static scene – quite subtle would do fine –
For sometimes when it’s hope expressed, sufficient is a line.Thanks Lord for this.
