“Values Clarification” [Reflection on Larry Winget’s Book – You’re Broke Because You Want to Be, Poem #3, Chap.2] (James 4:1-12)

Poor people in rich people’s clothes,
Are out of their element – those
Who peaceful within our aware;
Show richness without any care.

I once saw this girl on the bus,
More stunning than any of us;
Exuded a comfort within,
Portraying her wealth below skin.

It’s good just as far as it goes,
Then side-slips as James’ letter shows –
“You want to be rich, as I am?
Describe it the best that you can.”

I’m tired of sorting such stuff,
A little bit’s more than enough;
But I’ll press on and sift out the grain;
Leave the chaff, saying, “Thanks just the same”.

Thanks Lord for this.
