"Right Side Up; Outside In" [Module #50] (John 6:25-71)

Encourager’s my dominant, not giver-finance, see?
Which means, big picture I don’t live, just interactively;
Yes, right side up’s important for us all here in this life,
But outside-in is dominant – gives inter-active light.

I need response to operate, so folks can shut me down
By holding back reactions to my presence – being ’round;
That was a problem up ’till now, but not so much these days –
For interactive life-in-Christ’s like Andrew Murray says:

“In Gospels there’s a story ’bout a fig tree withered up;
And Jesus quipped, ‘Your words in Me you’ll find will be enough,
To take this bush and move it to a life within the sea,
Or mountains move if you will live more interactively.

“ ‘Take prayer’, He said ‘if while in prayer you see you have received,
Some gift from Me, then ask yourself, ‘Do I want this for me?’
If so, then ask Me for it, like, accept delivery –
And it will be to you – that’s living interactively.

“ ‘Or if you have some problem, or some ailment needing fixed,
Know this – I always ask you first, ‘What can I do ’bout this?”
For I won’t give you parts of life you are not willing to
Plug into life, take consequence, of miracles I do.

“ ‘That’s why I ask you, ‘How far can I take you at this time?
Are you in this as actively as I am? Where’s your mind?
If you’re with me, why sure I’ll help, but I won’t wave a wand;
I’ll wait until you’re ready, then together we’ll move on’.”

That’s “interactive life in Christ” which I have come to live;
Big picture I don’t need as much, as those whose gift’s to give;
That’s second gift for me, and so it’s big within my life;
But interactive life in Christ trumps that and cuts the strife.

So, sure, it’s great when folks play ball and hit it back to me,
But if they don’t, their loss it is, but it’s no block to me;
For life-in-Christ is larger game of tennis that I play –
He hits the ball, I hit back, I’m stretched in tennis play.

Sometimes I get frustrated when big picture I don’t see;
This passage helps remind me to live interactively;
And that’s sufficient ’specially when the folks around me don’t
Play ball, but take it off with them, which seems to be their wont.

As “Bread of life” Christ feeds me in three ways, I’ve come to see –
Through Scripture, prayer, experience – that’s quite enough for me;
Enough to move on down the road, with parts a mystery,
Which keeps my walk a walk of faith – “experientially”.

Thanks Lord for this.
