"Glockenspiel"  [Reflections on Chris Orwig's Book Visual Poetry - Chapter 4 - 6] (Matthew 10:05; John 15:1-2)

The choir had orchestra their own
Of glockenspiels – kids quite at home;
But as the kids rotated ’round,
Some tones came out, placed on the ground.

“It’s hard to hit wrong note that way,
And tones still left, the children play –
That’s how they learn to hit each note
Until they know each piece by rote”.

So Tiger Woods learned how to golf –
One club on course, the rest on shelf,
Until he knew what each club could do,
And limits to each number too.

“Pruned back”; “Start in home-culture, friends”
Christ said, “until the training ends”;
It’s more with less; go up through down;
Keep feet firm-planted on the ground.

Like Zorro’s three-foot circle ring
He would defend ’gainst anything;
So pull some notes from glockenspiel,
And learn with one or two to deal.

I guess that’s what’s inherited –
Transition – I’ve been over-fed
On digi-smorgasbord of tricks,
Techniques, and options in the mix.

“Cut back, don’t eat meals in one byte;
Slow down and chew each mouthful right;
You’ve got the time in “double-weeks”
To master skills which now you seek.

Thanks Lord for this.
