"Writing Guide" [Module #37A] (Matt. 13:24-52)

A scribe, trained in kingdom facts,
Has guide in Scripture – how to act;
Things new, things old, are served that way,
So both through work see light of day.

Six principles of how a seed
Matures to harvest, meets some need,
Are given in this gospel part –
Quite useful when creating art:

Our art is there for everyone;
Input control is ours, so fun
It is to read, explore, suggest
Interpretations we think best.

As authors, artists, what we spread
Is us, to those who then are led;
They seize the value sensed in us,
And leave the rest, no fuss, no muss.

Our readership a mixed lot is;
The filter slight – in picture biz
It’s even less than written tome –
Be gentle when the newbies roam –

Into the precincts of our minds;
Fragile they are, best we be kind
To them, “mature” our rating then;
Assistance to their growing lend.

So think on that, friend Stu, don’t rush
To pile on more, beneath its crush,
Be overwhelmed, compassion-like,
Just take and chew each good-sized bite.

For everyone? A smorgasbord,
A pot-luck-spread leads us towards
An input flow which meets our needs,
With regulation ours indeed.

So folks need help on how to read,
To get the help on things they need;
To scan, to rate, return again
To savor parts that cut the pain –

Or pleasure bring – it’s us they read
In text and picture; good they seize;
So work on us as artist types,
Then speak, create, it comes out right.

If it’s a mixed-bag audience,
And who we reach, by happenstance,
Seems mix of newbies and mature,
Perhaps our allergies insure –

Much less a hassle for these folks –
God’s in their struggles and their jokes,
Through Spirit’s acts enlivening words,
And closing off so part’s not heard.

For Spirit’s first in life always;
Then physical a part then plays;
So we can trust that God will bring
The folks He wants to hear us sing.

So school should never force a text
On student immature, unless
They have some good alternatives –
Back off such T/R push and shove.
