"Children's Photography"   [Reflections on Chris Orwig's Book Visual Poetry - Chapter 3:1 ] (Ephesians 5:19-20 )

Its songs, and Psalms, and Spirit-songs
Which get to us, move us along
In growth that’s deep – maturity –
Slips under radar – we don’t see.

When change is deep, it flows on out
In all we think, and are about;
Deep change is slow, it’s best that way
(“Who are you, dad, deep-down today?”)

For poetry’s innocuous,
Looks innocent, relaxes us;
Don’t kid yourself – the view of cat
Depicted there is heard – and that –

Is what slips in, arrives unseen;
Right brain picks up, the part that’s keen
To move us into some new song
Of life – then body moves along.

And as we do activities
Related to such change, it frees
Us to make change, both slow and fast,
And hum a song as color cast.
