"Of The Home-Town Crowd" [Module #39] (Matthew 13:53-58; Mk.6:1-6)
Is there a job that’s possible
When you’re from hometown stock?
For only in the hometown scene
They mark down what you’ve got.Why yes, just work behind the scenes;
Explain the leaders’ words;
Run interference, head off a coup;
Help implement what’s heard.Lay hands on those who are not locked
In local customs’ way,
Who would be free of gilded cage,
And help them have their say.For people who recovered are
Live sermons to the rest,
For others lived before the fix
Have attitudes addressed.For Jesus worked in His hometown,
Sent twelve to theirs as well;
Best place to train is your hometown,
For those you heal will tell –Of how the kingdom came to them,
Brought light and life so near;
Such evidence is clearly seen,
Which circumvents one’s fear.If you’re not of their culture, bub,
Your problems aren’t the same;
But ones you help are in this fix –
They’re in the “hometown” game.As TCK I do not fit
Most places where I live;
I’m from “away” folks clearly see,
Which helps my gift to give.navigation
