"Soul-Soil Preparation"  [Module #33] (Matt. 13:1-52; Mk. 4:1-34; Luke 8:4-18)

Instructed how to teach the law
(Not well, of course, for me it’s AuD.);
Instructed then of kingdom life,
Which cost a lot for self and wife.

All set to go, but first forewarned
To prep the soil, or I’d be scorned
By those whose hearts were not prepared;
My trainings thus was multi-layered.

First taught at home, and some at church
The basic shtick, that layer first;
Then broader base of first degree,
Upon which built theology.

Then field-work brought a focus fine
To quest, and question in my mind –
“We’re missing something here below,
Which stops us doing what we know –

What could that be?” I must find out –
The other folks don’t think about
What stopped us cold – ’course they’re not me –
Which in the end was there to see.

We miss the “culture factor” there –
What happens when we must prepare
Soul-soil for seed-word in their hearts?
What must be done before that starts?

Of course, there’s tough resistant soil
(Hard-packed, committed, weeds) – and toil
Which takes some time to make it “good”,
So crop can grow as grow it should.

But “culture” was what Christ left out –
Trained men at home, but left no doubt
That they would do far greater things
Than He had done – cross-culture brings –

New challenges – no question there;
But what we have, as we compare
The context in our world today
Is cultures-mixed – and TCK.

A TCK is what I was;
Unknown to me, and yet because
That was the factor at the base
Of messed-up life – it answers raised.

So when I now am in the field,
Apostle now, to harvest yield,
I hear Christ’s word, “Disciple there –
But don’t forget – soul-soil prepare”.

But now I see an added twist –
This multi-cultured world insists
We first address the Bruchko task –
Unlock each cultured-door held fast.

That’s always been Apostle’s task,
As they’ve gone on some mission blast
To culture-groups across the sea,
But one of each is here we see.

It is a soul-soil prepping task,
So folks can hear Christ’s words at last;
An apostolic work indeed,
So soil’s prepared for planting seed.
