"Soloing In Giver Land"  [Module #31] (Matt. 10:1-42)

We all have to solo if we want to fly a plane;
Take a breath and jump in if we wish to sail again;
Push off from the poolside if we wish to swim a mile;
Get involved with people if we wish to make them smile.

“Package of authority comes from our God above,
Tailored to His task for us as we express His love;
Yes and no both part of life as we show folks the way;
Trained in pairs within the storm, foundation helps us stay.

“Mentors, with such pairing up, accelerate the task;
Solo work is done in pairs – so someone’s there to ask,
When things get rough, or blocks appear, and road has twists and turns;
Initial mission pushes you, speeds up how fast you learn.

“Prayer dynamics also help as you ascend the loop;
Three-foot circle, learn it well; put foot in front of foot;
As you learn, then pass it on, ‘the kingdom life’ as text;
It’s exchange-economy from one meal to the next.

“Be on guard, there’s wolves out there where I am sending you;
Not above your teacher, so watch me for what they’ll do;
They will hear (if hear they will) God’s love expressed through you;
If you make it, it will make you competent to do –

“Apostolic tasks for me – climb over culture’s walls;
Learn among your kith and kin – anticipate the falls;
No one gets it right away, a training round this is;
Into business-finance world? Then soak up all there is.”
