Cut ’Em Loose [Fawcett #22] ( )

To gain some land and soldiers kill,
And as a bonus wishes fill
That troublemakers be removed,
(Head on a pike) it just behooved –

The London crowd to hold back arms,
Supplies, and men – leave them in harm –
Ignore them, hang ’em out to dry,
Just cut ’em loose, leave them to die.

The Nile went down (that side no wall),
The city fell, no strain at all;
Then Britts moved in and cleaned their clock –
Khartoum a loss – Britts gained a lot.

King David pulled that stunt as well –
First stole the wife, then husband fell
When David had his men pull back –
The guy out front supporters lacked.

Sometimes we’re cut off from support;
I well recall (not in report)
The UCC pulled that on me,
With back of hand wiped mouth with glee –

“We’ve done no wrong” said smiling cat;
“We did not hire that guy for that”;
“Not I”, said pig, “I make no bread;
Pull back the troops – he’ll soon be dead”.
