"Beyond The Script" [Gross and Shapiro - Tao Of Photography- Reflections - pp.39-41]
“When the shooting-script needs sunshine, and it rains”,
The artist said in workshop (‘Budget Pain’),
“Then change the script, don’t wait for weather change;
It’s easier in post to re-arrange.When challenge comes to shooting ’cause it’s cold,
Or you are middle-aged, and pushing old,
Advantage seen in newness of the scene,
It takes us to a place we’ve never been.A “hit” (a term for pix that works for us),
Is mix of tools and feelings – not as tough
To make as photograph by formula,
With expectations high as Shangri-La.Potential, mixed with expertise, and tools,
Results in pictures from internal pools
Of intellect, emotion, spirit too –
Resourceful be, and move beyond the rules.navigation
