"Acceptance" [Gross and Shapiro - Tao Of Photography - Reflections - pp.33-38]

Days are sunny, brisk, and grim;
Nights are frigid – dawn begins
Each new day in different skins –
Photograph today you’re in.

Change in climate, weather, scene,
Should excite, and make you keen
To engage what now appears
Through the smog, as evening nears.

Miracles are commonplace
When our eyes new scenes embrace;
Photo-visions far exceed
Prior lists of shots we need.

Share attention and your time
Fully, don’t potential bind
With constrictive lens, God’s world;
Photograph; say “Yes”, don’t curl –

In your soft reclining chair,
Saying, “There’s no picture there”.
Enter now; participate
In this life today – don’t wait.

Lord, the dawn is sky-blue-pink;
Fragile moment makes me think
I’m a part of this today;
Photographs through me should say –

“Here, calm down, it’s time to rise,
Capture moments like the skies –
Wispy clouds in shifting light –
Life that flows both day and night”.

Not apart, but here, as one –
That’s our status, how life runs;
Spellbound by the life around,
Life of awe which light has found.

Thanks Lord for this.
