"Selective Alzheimer's"  [Gross and Shapiro -  Tao Of Photography - Reflections - pp.12-18] (Genesis 2:7)

A Sage is free from sense of self distinct
From his or her environment – and thinks
From in the whole of which we each are part,
A mobile part, of course – who makes the art?

Who makes the art, indeed the part or whole?
Who writes the book? Who sets the social goal?
We’re social, Jung said archetypes give rise
To cultures, then to each – it’s how we thrive.

I’ve often thought, “What stories could the trees
And rocks tell us if we got on our knees,
And put our ears to world which cannot walk –
The stars and universe – if they could talk!

But here these artists, Sages, seem to say,
“The universe – the stars in their array,
Do talk indeed, make art, and long for home –
For humans are the voice where e’er they roam.

But not has condescending, stooping down,
But as the universe’s smile and frown;
It’s hands which makes its art, expresses joy
In song and pictures – art of girls and boys.

So change your point of view and photos take,
As arms and legs of universe, and make
The messages the earth still longs to say –
As part of it, speak now, no more delay.

Thanks Lord for this.
